Sometimes wire harness assembly terminations and cable assembly projects require hand soldering. An expertly soldered joint is critical to maintaining the integrity of connections and at OEM, we take this task seriously. That’s why our hand soldering projects are only performed by highly trained and certified technicians. We also employ soldering inspectors to make sure each connection is reliable and enduring. All of our technicians and inspectors have been certified to meet the latest IPC standard (A-620).
Another important step in the process is tinning, which is performed so that every wire is assured a consistent surface that easily enables soldering. When tinning is done properly, the coat of solder is smooth with strands clearly visible. Just as with hand soldering, OEM’s tinning technicians are highly trained experts who have been certified to meet the latest IPC standards.
